## Why connect PostHog

Ordinary's pixel covers the storefront — sessions, product
views, cart, checkout, orders. PostHog typically covers what
the storefront pixel can't:

- ### Pre-checkout interactions  Content engagement, video plays, configurator usage — signals from before the buying decision was made.

- ### Post-purchase activity  What happens in your customer account or app after the order — re-engagement signals invisible to a storefront pixel.

- ### Cross-device journeys  PostHog's identity stitching links a customer's mobile and desktop visits — handy for products with long consideration windows.

## What PostHog doesn't replace

Ordinary's first-party pixel is the source of truth for
sessions and attribution. PostHog session counts will usually
differ — different definitions, different bot filtering — and
that's expected. We never average them or split the
difference. PostHog is here for what PostHog is uniquely good
at; commerce stays with the pixel.
